Veneers
Do misaligned, chipped, stained, or broken teeth keep you from smiling?
Veneers are thin but strong custom-made shells that can conceal dental imperfections, balancing and restoring your compromised smile.
Dr. Shannon Patterson of the Brookhaven Dental Center can renew your smile with high-quality veneers at our Brookhaven, MS, practice...

Enhance the Appearance of Your Smile with Porcelain Veneers
Even if you have excellent oral health, there may be aesthetic elements of your smile that you wish to change or improve. Porcelain veneers are one of the most popular cosmetic options offered at our practice, where we proudly provide dental care to patients from Brookhaven, Auburn, and all of Lincoln County, MS.
What Exactly Is a Dental Veneer?
A veneer is a very thin but very strong shell that our dentist can adhere to the front surface of a compromised tooth, concealing imperfections and bringing symmetry to your bite.
Benefits of Dental Veneers
Immediate Results
Adults with misaligned or stained teeth can sport a new smile that's straighter and brighter immediately after dental veneers are placed. In contrast, whitening treatments and orthodontic appliances can take months or even years to show improvement.
Efficient Treatment
Dental veneers cover several cosmetic issues at once. If you have a tooth that is both chipped and stained, a single veneer can address both of these imperfections.
Lifelike Appearance
The high-quality porcelain used to create our dental veneers reflects light just like tooth enamel does, so no one will know there are prosthetics in your smile.
Boosted Self-Confidence
When you leave Dr. Patterson's office after receiving veneers, you will feel more confident in your ability to make a great first impression thanks to your dazzling smile.
Instant Orthodontics
Porcelain veneers are comfortable and attractive, unlike the tight and unsightly metal braces that some dentists may recommend for minor misalignment. Because they can conceal gaps and slight crowding, dental veneers are often called "Instant Orthodontics."

You should qualify for dental veneers if you meet the following criteria:
- Your misalignment is not serious enough to need orthodontia such as braces or aligners.
- You don't have oral health issues like extensive tooth decay or diseases of the gums.
- You have sufficient tooth enamel to support a porcelain veneer.
- You don't grind or clench your teeth at night. This can damage the porcelain restorations.
- You brush and floss regularly and schedule regular check-ups with your dentist.
Traditional vs. Minimal-Prep Veneers
Traditional
To place a traditional veneer, Dr. Patterson must remove a small amount of enamel from the treated tooth. This ensures the veneer lies flush with adjacent teeth and doesn't look bulky. Numbing anesthetic may be needed during enamel removal. Traditional veneers easily conceal multiple kinds of dental imperfections.
Minimal-Prep
Minimal-prep veneers are thinner than the traditional version, so very little, if any, dental enamel needs removing. This may eliminate the need for numbing injections. This option is ideal for adults without sufficient enamel to support traditional porcelain veneers. However, they don't work as well to close gaps between teeth.

Are Veneers Covered by Insurance?
Since these restorations are purely cosmetic, they are not covered by dental insurance. That's why Dr. Patterson offers six- and 12-month interest-free payment plans that can make this life-changing service affordable for everyone.
